Image presentation, watermarking & controlled previews
Photography is central to an editorial website. This MUMEI study explores how controlled previews, identity marks and careful image preparation can support presentation and discretion while keeping the limits of browser-based protection clear.

Control the preview.
A soft or cropped preview gives the visitor a deliberate way to reveal a photograph. The control should be understandable on touch screens and with a keyboard, with a clear route back to the previous state.
Carry the identity.
A watermark can connect a photograph to its source and discourage casual reuse. It needs to remain legible across crops without overwhelming the image. It cannot prevent screenshots or guarantee that displayed media will not be copied.
Prepare the image for its place.
Responsive image sizes reduce unnecessary transfers. Accurate descriptions help people using screen readers and give search engines useful context. Decorative duplicates should remain silent. Rights, credits and publication approval must come from the actual source, not be invented for metadata.
